£600 Model "EL34 Bright for Quad ESL-63 and Quad ESL-57"

Quad ESL-57 and Quad ESL-63 are different from conventional speakers,
and they have special requirements for the amplifier.
One of the many speakers that we use to develop our amplifiers are ESL-57,
so we are familiar with the special needs of Quad electrostatic speakers.
More bass from your Quad ESL-63
The main advantage of buying our EL34 valve amplifier is that
you will get more bass from our massive transformers.
The small transformers in the typical "class B" transistor amplifiers,
are too small for powerful bass !
( You have our money back guarantee on this point ! )
Treble from your Quad ESL-63
The Quad ESL-63 loses a lot of "high" treble
above 10,000 Hertz.
This may come as a surprise to Quad ESL-63 owners,
so please look at the graphs on the right.
Hi Fi Choice measured the Quad ESL-63
in 3 different ways,
to produce 3 different graphs.
This proves that,
no matter how you measure the Quad ESL-63,
you will find that the Quad loses
about 5 dB of treble above 10,000 Hertz.
So when, somebody complains of the "clothy" treble, their
ears are more sensitive to the missing 5 dB of "high" treble.
They are not "Quad bashing", so do not take it personally !
Different people have different ears !
Modern speakers like £6,500 B&W Nautilus 802,
will produce graphs that are "flat" (within 2 dB)
from the upper bass to 20,000 Hertz.

We cannot replace the 5 dB of "high" treble,
so we have designed a valve amplifier called "EL34 Bright for Quad ESL-63 and Quad ESL-57".
£600 "EL34 Bright for Quad ESL-63 and Quad ESL-57" is much brighter than our £600 "EL34 Silver".
This will help to offset the 5 dB of "high" treble lost by the Quad ESL-63
We will be pleased to send you both of the £600 models,
so that you can hear the difference for yourself.
One of the many speakers that we use to develop our amplifiers is Quad ESL-57,
so we are familiar with the special needs of Quad electrostatic speakers.
