( If I do not listen to the speakers, I cannot tell you how good
or bad they sound like. )
( This speaker were new, until I needed
to write a review for our eBay listing.
)
POWERFUL pair of MODIFIED IN ENGLAND speakers
with 10 inch woofer mounted on the side of the cabinet
+ 6 inch mid range
+ 1 inch tweeter |
AND |
NEW good quality 'fashionable' speaker cable with transparent insulation |
AND |
NEW Mr Bob Marley Reggae CD to prove that these speakers have 100 times
better bass than speakers with 1 or 2 pieces of 6 inch speaker (regardless
of £300 , £1600 or £4000 price or hype in Hi Fi magazines
or internet forums, by dealers pretending to be innocent members of the
public.) |
I challenge our competitors to supply Mr Bob Marley Reggae CD to prove
that
our competitors SMALL 6 inch speakers got powerful, well controlled
bass. |
|
Powerful Deep Bass |
We have tuned the cabinet to a lower frequency
and carefully modified it
to produce POWERFUL DEEP BASS that is 100% BOOM FREE. |
100 times less irritating then some GBP £2000 speakers with two
pieces of 6 inch speakers
that booms and booms and invent bass (when there is no bass). |
100 times less irritating then GBP £1400 speakers
with a short transmission line (less than 14 feet long)
and insufficient sound absorbent to produce huge amount of boomy bass
to impress Hi-Fi reviewers. |
|
Sweet Treble, that can go LOUD, without becoming harsh |
The "High Tech" tweeter uses a transparent dome + British notch filter
+ British Zobel network
and is VERY NEUTRAL,
produces SWEET TREBLE, WITHOUT DRAWING ATTENTION TO ITSELF,
and can go MUCH LOUDER (without becoming harsh)
than most 1 inch tweeters in GBP £300 to GBP £10,000 speakers
(because of our British notch filter) |
I believe (but I have no proof) that
the "High Tech" tweeter uses SMALL VERY POWERFUL "rare earth magnets"
that has been hyped up in some fashionable Hi Fi magazines
as sounding much better than ordinary magnet. |
No, I do not have a scientific explanation for this particular Hi Fi
magazine hype ! |
|
Human voice that is BETTER THAN ELECTROSTATIC SPEAKERS.
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE (less shipping cost, within 30
days)
ON THIS UNBELIEVABLE POINT (until you do an A B testing
between these speakers) |
The sophisticated mid range uses a coated paper cone. |
Young's Modulus shows that
paper is much stronger (FOR THE SAME WEIGHT)
then metals (except Beryllium) and modern plastic hyped up in hi-fi
magazines.
Young's Modulus is for ONE BIG PIECE of the material. |
Carbon fibre, glass fibre, woven Kevlar is
MUCH MUCH WEAKER than ONE BIG PIECE of the material because .......... |
The fibres will "slide" over one another,
so the strength depends
on the inferior strength of the adhesive
( or the inferior strength
of air, because ... )
( how can you glue ALL of the thousands of fibres, )
( without getting a bad glue joint on a few fibres ? )
If the Young's Modulus of the adhesive is better than the fibres,
you might has well use the adhesive on its own,
WITHOUT THE FIBRES !
|
|
|
On top of that, coated paper has far superior MECHANICAL LOSS
which quickly dampens any cone break up / resonance / ringing |
Metal and modern hard ish plastics have poor 'mechanical loss',
so they are very poor at dampening any cone break up / resonance /
ringing
and they ring like a bell. VERY AUDIBLE AS TOO MUCH UPPER MIDRANGE
/ LOWER TREBLE
for many 6 inch metal or modern hard ish plastics speakers ! |
It might be okay to use TINY 1 inch metal or hard ish plastic dome,
because the troublesome cone break up / resonance can be pushed into
the ultrasonic range.
(Unfortunately, DVD audio enthusiast claims that the ultrasonic
range affects the music.)
|
The problem becomes much worst,
when you're trying to use metal or modern hard ish plastics for 6 inch
speakers,
which usually produces cone break up / resonance / ringing around 5
kilohertz to 8 kilohertz. |
The crossover does NOT stop ALL of 5 kHz to 8 kHz reaching the mid
range,
so many 6 inch metal or hard ish plastics speakers tend to resonate
/ ring around 5 kHz to 8 kHz
(and some people will wrongly blame the tweeter),
so human voices sounds forward and 'in your face'
and you get false exaggerated imaging ( excessive high frequency improves
imaging),
and it sounds very impressive in the high street shop. |
Take it home, and after two weeks,
the cone break up / resonance / ringing around 5 kHz to 8 kHz
makes female voices sounds too thin,
exaggerates sibilance (when a woman says his, it sounds like hissssssk),
and it gets more and more irritating
and hi-fi magazines will tell you to buy GBP £200 interconnects,
GBP £1000 speaker cables,
the latest GBP £1000 CD player,
throw away the CD player and buy a turn table,
instead of DOING SOMETHING OBVIOUS, LIKE CHANGING THE SPEAKERS ! !

If you can believe what I have written that
OUR COATED PAPER CONES ARE BETTER THAN
HI FI MAGAZINES HYPE ABOUT METAL AND PLASTIC CONES
then you might believe that
human voices on this WELL DESIGNED COATED PAPER mid range is excellent,
and is more believable and more realistic than our best electrostatic
speakers. |
Our best electrostatic speakers were launched in 1957 (late 1956)
and were very good 50 years ago,
but the treble rolls off BEFORE 10 kHz (unless you are hi-fi reviewer
and got a specially selected sample, please read review in an old copy
of Studio Sound magazine.)
and female voices sounds muffled (not enough High Frequency) (Please
look at the frequency response curves, before you disagree.) |
It MIGHT be possible that
female voices on our WELL DESIGNED COATED PAPER mid range
has just A LITTLE BIT too much treble
BUT WITHOUT GETTING THE FEMALE SINGER TO SING IN MY LIVING ROOM
AND RECORDING HER VOICE ON A VALVE CONDENSER MICROPHONE
ONTO THE HIGH SPEED OPEN REEL TAPE RECORDER, WITHOUT WORN OUT TAPE
HEADS, PINCH ROLLERS, ETC., I cannot really tell. |
THE WELL DESIGNED COATED PAPER MID RANGE IS THAT GOOD ! |
Female voices on the well designed coated paper mid range is
five times more believable / realistic than the muffled female voices
on our best electrostatics.
(Please look at the frequency response curves, before you disagree.)
( DVD audio enthusiast who claims that ultrasonic treble AFFECTS affects
the music, might have a valid point.) |
I was listening on axis (horizontally and vertically) to make sure
that the loss in high frequency
was not caused by the poor polar response of electrostatic speakers. |
The bass of the POWERFUL 10 inch woofer on our MODIFIED IN ENGLAND
speaker
is 100 times better than our 3 ft. electrostatic speakers
(you need 14 ft. by 14 ft. electrostatic speakers to get down to 20
hertz). |
Our TINY "High Tech" 1 inch tweeter + British notch filter + British
Zobel network
is 100 times better
than the HUGE about 2 feet by about 5 inch electrostatic mid range
/ treble.
( Most audio engineers will agree that 2 feet by 5 inch panels
are too big for the best quality treble.)
