What are the differences between £1,350 "EL34 High
End",
300B Single Ended amplifiers and KT88 Single Ended amplifiers
?
£1,350 Model "El34 Lim Signature" is tuned with :-
All of the tuning of the £600 "EL34
Silver" (Please see previous page for more details)
like 6 SILVER capacitors , American Military 5670 valves "Ferrite Ring" filter on the mains lead, ... and so on ..... |
|
+ Non magnetic, Stainless Steel
chassis (Bottom cover and safety cage is made of ordinary steel)
Ordinary steel chassis will "conduct" the magnetic field from the mains transformer to the input socket, etc |
|
+ Additional components to tune the "Ultra Linear" output
transformers.
This tuning is measurable, and more importantly, it is clearly audible on expensive "High End" speakers
|
|
+ even larger and more expensive
potted transformers !
As we expected, the larger transformers give deeper cleaner bass. |
|
What was totally unexpected was that it also gave cleaner midrange !
The midrange is now so clean,
that it will match the midrange of the average 300B Single Ended amplifiers (without feedback). But the bass slam of all of our EL34 amplifier is 10 times better than average 300B Single Ended amplifiers (without feedback) |
|
The only advantage of the very best and
expensive £4,000 plus
300B Single Ended is better midrange than our EL34. However, our EL34 will still have 3 to 10 times better bass slam ! |
|
If you do not believe us, please read up on
Single Ended valve amplifiers,
and you will find that most Single Ended valve amplifiers is "bass light" ( regardless of price and hype ! ) |
|
You can use "Negative Feedback"
to improve the bass slam of Single Ended valve amplifiers, but you will end up with mediocre midrange ! |
|
300B Single Ended Amplifiers are very expensive,
compared with cheaper KT88 Single Ended Amplifiers ! So do not get me started on KT88 Single Ended amplifiers ! |
