REMOTE CONTROLS ARE BAD
BECAUSE ........
Question from eBay member in August 2013 = |
Answer = Thank you for your email. I apologise for the delay
in replying , because I have been busy
and I must have "overlooked" the eBay email about your question. |
We will NEVER have remote controls fitted to the "main" amplifier because
........ |
|
REASON 1 = I want our
amplifier to last 10 years or 20 years or even 30 years.
With the exception of the transformers (the 3 big lumps of metal at
the back of the amplifier) ,
we always try to use "standard" ""easily available" parts for our amplifiers.
If our amplifier need spare parts in 10 years time or 20 years time
,
almost anybody can buy "standard" ""easily available" parts , to repair
our amplifiers. |
You CANNOT do this with the "typical" Remote Control.
There are MANY DOZENS of DIFFERENT TYPES of IC ( Integrated Circuits
) for remote control.
IF IN 10 YEARS TIME , the remote control breaks down or you lose the
remote control
or a crazy dog chews up your remote control IN 10 YEARS TIME ,
the repairman will PROBABLY have difficulty in finding the CORRECT
IC (Integrated Circuit)
to repair the remote control. |
Usually , the TINY TINY TINY SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) IC (Integrated
Circuit) are usually so TINY ,
that it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO REPAIR "MODERN" REMOTE CONTROLS |
So the EXPENSIVE , PRESTIGIOUS "main" amplifier will be "semi useless"
because of a cheap USD $ 1 IC (Integrated Circuit). That is just
crazy ! |
We will NEVER put remote control in the EXPENSIVE "main" amplifier
! |
Maybe , we MIGHT put "sleeping style" remote control in a CHEAP "passive"
preamplifier.
( The remote control will "go to sleep" and stop "thinking" and stop
causing RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) , when you are NOT pressing
any buttons on the remote control.) |
|
REASON 2 = MANY (but not all) remote control circuits will carry
on "thinking"
EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING THE REMOTE CONTROL.
This will produce "radio waves" INSIDE THE AMPLIFIER BOX and RFI (Radio
Frequency Interference).
The amplifier wires and copper track on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
will behave like TINY AERIALS
and "pick up" the unwanted radio waves ( like the TINY AERIALS on OLD
mobile phones.) |
This problem is acceptable for CHEAP Hi Fi equipment ,
but remote controls are a silly idea for the BEST , NO COMPROMISE AMPLIFIERS
! |
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE (less shipping cost, during 1 month home trial)
that our eBay listing of GBP £1450 and GBP £1588 amplifiers
will EASILY EASILY EASILY BEAT any amplifiers with "typical" remote controls
, because "typical" remote controls are bad for RFI ( Radio Frequency Interference
) , which will affect the quality of sound ! |
